msfledermaus...I hope you all had a lovely, lovely New Year. I know I sure did!
Mostly it was hanging out with friends, watching movies or watching the ball in Times Square drop. Dick Clark looked like the living dead, which fascinated me. There was a fun party full of people I didn't know well, so a bunch of us clustered in the hallway eating snacks and petting the cat of the hostess. (Which it turns out I'm allergic to--I was a blotchy thing by the time I went to sleep.)
Yesterday I slept in late, had an adventure dealing with a coconut,(I'm still sweeping up coconut bits all over the ktichen) ate Chinese food, watched "The Madness of King George" and after a late night shopping run ensconced myself cosily in bed with a book...
And this morning I watched the river steam and freeze as I walked to the bus stop. The river in winter continues to amaze me every day; it's always so different and beautiful...
All in all, a very nice start to the new year.

Date: 2008-01-02 04:44 pm (UTC)I didn't stay awake to see midnight roll over, and I blame a nice warm cat that planted herself next to us. Thankfully, I am not allergic to this cat (have been to others)...
Is that bad luck to sleep through midnight on New Year's Eve?
