...Sounds like Bauhaus is coming out with a new album this week. This week! Too good to be true, I tellya!!

I remember the first time I heard "God in an Alcove" as a teenager and going, "What was THAT?!?! Holy crap, got any MORE?!?!?" I was lucky enough to see them live years ago, and they still took my breath away even after years and years. A new cd.....Ooooooh!!!

So until I get my hands on it, I had to play "Bela Lugosi's Dead."...

Now I want to see The Hunger for the billionth time. I was just describing it to a friend yesterday, and now this!

I had a cow-irker that had NEVER seen the Hunger. I told him to drop everything and go and get it RIGHT NOW!

I saw it again for the first time in years, and it's still just as good as it was then. I love that movie...

I didn't see The Hunger until my first year in grad school; we had to watch it for a queer theory seminar. I saw it last year at some lesbian film festival for Halloween, and the people that I was with couldn't believe that I'd had to watch it for a class.

My friend who hasn't seen it is writing her dissertation on aging in American culture, so I thought she would enjoy it.

Oooh, it brings up some good bits for such a class, for sure:)

I've never been afraid
I love the life we made
I'm so glad I stayed
Right here with you
Through the years

Aw, *snif* I love you too, Mausi!

Okay, now this is weird. On my friends page, your post showed a Kenny Rogers video (the source of the above lyrics). But when I opened the post to comment, the Bauhaus was showing. I figured you typoed or something, and corrected it by the time I got here. But I've refreshed my friends page, and the Kenny Rogers is still there.

What did you do?!!

WTF? I hit refresh three times, and the Kenny stayed. After making the above comment, I went back to my friends page, and the Bauhaus is there.

    Ack!

I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!! Nothing wrong--I just embedded the Youtube vid like everybody does, and I have no such weirdness on my side...No typos, no nothin'.

Turns out that that other video had been posted by someone else on my friends page at nearly that time. I didn't watch it or anything, though.

Weird.

Yep.. They've been on and off for years, but they haven't put out anything new in a while. So this is pretty cool...

Don't get used to it because they released a new album this week and will tour for a little while before officially retiring the band permanently. They have said in every interview that this is the last Bauhaus album of new material ever.

A funny aside... When Johnny Depp bought a mansion in Beverly Hills that had been owned in the past by Bela Lugosi, all I could think of whenever I saw a news piece about it was that he now could pay a daily visit to "Bela Lugosi's Shed". ; )
