beef stew and apple pie and hobbitses...

This was a good weekend...I hung out with various people, watching LOTS of Lord of the Rings and such. Dave and Matt made a really fantastic beef stew with beer and mushrooms, and Reb made amazing roasted green beens and a fabulously nummy apple pie. How nummy? I, who tend to shun pie crust as a rule, ate all mine:)

They also lent me their copy of "The Tale of Genji". I'm surrounded on all sides by art referencing the Tale of Genji, so I was on the lookout for a copy just so I could understand the references better. I've been warned that it's a nonlinear court soap opera of grand proportions...I'll just try to hack through it as best I can.

I also made a hat. Big surprise there, I'm sure. It's the black and reddish stuff I spun...couldn't keep my hands off it after all. Turned out to be a good thing, since it snowed goddamn again this weekend, and my ears are now toasty warm with extra angora trim. Take that, snow!! *Gives sky the finger*

I just wish there was more weekend for me today. But alas, the Jade Mines and the Tale of Genji beckons...

I like pie, I just tend to dislike pie crust. Unless it's a meat pie, for some reason. I'm funny like that. *shrugs*

Gosh, there's so many!!!

I got about halfway through last time before i had to break off and leave. But I just finished another section, and I think I can get the last section later today:)
