Yesterday was busy busy...I got off work, went to a meeting with other cow-irkers to help figure out strategy for our labor contract, and got spirited away by Matt and Erin for dinner...and what a dinner! Steak and reduced onion chutney, lovely bread and this amazing shrimp and artichoke dish over rice. Mmmmmmm!!! They're both ever so slightly pink around the edges from the Florida sun. Erin brought me a present, too--a Floridian Pirate coffee mug. Yarr! So now with this and my Conneticutt pirate mug this makes two. I fear it's the beginning of...a collection!! I will not rest until I have silly coffee mugs from around the globe! California! New Orleans! The Carribean! Thailand! Micronesia! Kansas!! (Kansas? Ummmm...sure! Kansas!)

It was so cool to hang out and watch cake shows on the soul-sucking evil that is the Food Network. I was so transfixed by the sugar paste tulips one pastry chef made that Erin lent me one of her pastry books with instructions on how to make sugar flowers. The orchids look particulary tasty...I may have to try one, just to make horrible evil sugar Venus Fly traps to stick on a cheesecake or something...

And in the mailbox when I got home was a t-shirt I bought online from the Scary Go Round. It's the Grim Reaper holding a cute bunny ever so tenderly. Awwww...Death's got a bunny! I'm wearing it to work today:)

I try to get horrible coffee mugs from everywhere I go!! If possible the mug of choice is the I<3NY logo rip off variety. Airports are best, but I've found some great ones on street corners, too.

I wish I had a pic of it, but I got a black Dia De Los Muertos coffee mug from the Albuquerque airport. It has the Route 66 logo and two skeletons leaving a trail of fire with their hot rod...
