Another list of Unrelated Things...
May. 6th, 2008 07:26 pm...Except they all have to do with me, of course...
Burma seems so horrible and sad. I'm still getting over the disquiet from just the numbers of people involved. It just seems so unreal...
Work is worky. Yesterday was quite horrible, but today was functional. The galleries I was in charge of had impromptu haiku contests, and of course the ex-English teacher won, hands down...
Watching the docents give tours at work gave me an evil thought: What if *I* offered to do an evening tour at the Jade Mines on a Thursday night? I could dress up all fancy-like and give a talk about all the skulls and decapitation paintings and this sarcophagus and that mummy and why this Roman emperor got his chin chiseled off his portrait and whatnot... If it's unofficial, I can get to all the fun gruesome stuff, like which rooms are haunted and artists with sordid histories and such. If I volunteered to do it, is it something you might like to come to if you're local?
I'm trying to figure out what to do with some of my deeelicious vacation time. Travel? Stay home? I know June is messed up, full of negotiation committees and anniversaries and the Biggest Damn Gay Wedding Ever. Peaty's going to have lamb for the reception dinner. And goat. And, gods help ups all...peacock. *facepalm* I don't even know where he's gotten the peacock, but leave it to the Urban Assault Agrarian to find one for his wedding...
The co-op buyout is progressing, at it's very hippie-esque pace. At least they dropped the buy-in price, which makes me a happy creature. And it looks like something opened up in another of the houses, which means Captain Emily is next on the list. *gulp* Such glee I would have if she was a neighbor...
The tulips are coming up. And the lilies. I have seeds in large pots outside, sprouting. Spring is exciting stuff, I tellya...
