OMGWTF ICE BEARS!

I've been having to take a break from the Tale of Genji for a while. Seriously. I just wanna go through time and corner Lady Murasaki and ask, "Okay, what's the point of this? Genji does these immensely skanky things, but it's okay because he's soooooo cute?!? I heard there was karmic justice and Japanese court life and stuff in here! I'm at page 400 or so and all I have are admittedly cool woodcuts, the occasional bit of lyric haiku to seduce some cousin or auntie or stepmom or grandma or something, and various ladies pouting because they all want a piece of Genji! Eeew!"

So to give my poor brain a break, a friend from work lent me her copy of The Golden Compass as a change of pace. It's a very quick read so far--I'm halfway through, and I've been reading bits and pieces while on the bus and stuff like that. Do I want to see the movie? Ummmmmm...I dunno... but I may not ever have to, since Cleolinda has obligingly given the world The Golden Compass in Fifteen Minutes. It's much more fun than the movie could ever, ever be!!! Woooo! Ice bears!!!

Hmmm...I see recently my lj's been found by the spammers. I checked the person's info, and it's a dummy blog. Anybody know who I should talk to about this? I suppose I could drop LJ Abuse a line tonight, eh?
