A short list of various things...
Jun. 25th, 2008 07:30 amI have tons of salad I've been eating this week from the Burning River people. I bought more salad dressing so I can eat all this salad. More salad is coming tomorrow, just as I've got most of the greens out of my fridge. I think I've lost a little weight from consuming so much salad. *pokes belly*
The blonde streak I stuck in my hair for Ben and Peat's wedding is a great big hit at work. Everybody likes it, including the director...so I'm keeping it. One of the side effects of this is that I feel more "visible" at work, which is odd for me. Usually if you're in a silly uniform you can blend in well with the scenery, which is the whole point of a uniform. But now instead of walking by me and not registering me at all, people's eyes flick immediately to my hairline. I'm just gonna have to learn to accept that my new hair is breathtakingly beautiful and act accordingly:)
I bought peas and potatoes and stuff for making lamb stew out of the huge leg in my freezer. But I ran into two problems: One, I have to get my stewpot back from the boys. Two, it's too damn hot to cook properly. Back to salad tonight, I think.
The Crazy Neighbor is now 100 percent gone, and the new guy is moving in next door. He's having a bunch of us go through the apartment with sage smoke and rock salt to get out all the accumulated ookieness from the previous occupant. He's a mellow guy who asked if it was okay to play the piano until 10. Hell, In my opinion he can play the tuba and the bagpipes at the same time if he wanted to, because he's not the Crazy Neighbor...you can feel the change in the air on that side of the house. Much lighter:)
I got Bush's Bribe in the mail the other day, and deposited it yesterday. I think I'm saving a lot of it to pay for what his buddies are gonna charge us for heating bills this winter. Anything I spend from that check is either going to hippies or movies they wouldn't approve of. I still want to buy a copy of Sid and Nancy...hehhehhehhh...
There's a nice long weekend coming up for me to enjoy...a lot less busy than the last one. I could use a weekend to chill out and contemplate summer before it all goes away again...*Looks at the green trees and the rippling, flowing river*...
