Dinnery goodness...
Jul. 12th, 2008 06:11 pmHumph. A normal weekend just isn't enough right now. I got a little spoiled back in June with the vacation days. Ben and Peaty are bugging me to go to a brunch outside tomorrow with my neighbor Phyllis, and of course I can't because I have to work. Work hasn't been much fun lately, except for bonding with the Early Morning Mafia and the tour I'm giving on Thursday night. I've been contemplating a long-term goal of changing what I can do for a living; something that lets me use my strengths better and isn't so hard on the body like the guarding can be. Ideally I'd like to cut back to part-time at my current job and step up my knitting and spinning stuff. But these days with the economy getting weird and whatnot a full-time paycheck is gonna be needed for the forseeable future...
But right now I have lovely foods in my kitchen for a garden party outside with friends. We all just finished heating up the french bread and making wasabi sesame salad dressing. This perks me up immensely. We have a big honkin' peach pie for dessert. Who wants a piece?

Date: 2008-07-12 11:38 pm (UTC)I know what you mean about the job thing. When we moved, I decided it was more beneficial that I just go to school and forget working at the library part time - because they wouldn't give me full time and it's also half an hour from home.
Doing what you have to sucks; doing what you want is one of the best privileges in life...^^
