*chugs a gallon of iced tea in a go*
Aug. 6th, 2008 06:22 pmHello, sweeties. Long day at the mines today...We're still doing union negotiations--still! Anyway, a day of talking and thinking and typing and suchlike have made me a very tired Maus.
I slept badly last night because I kept hopping up to chase a rather large moth with a broom and a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol--I did nail the horrible whirring thing, but I didn't feel rested this morning. That seems to be how negotiation mornings tend to go, I find...
But there was a bright spot--Javier, our union president and negotiator, had his laptop with him, and in between bouts of number crunching and us going, "Lookit this crap, are they high or something?" we watched bits of Youtube...including the now-famous video of Paris Hilton's response to the John McCain attack ads. Big mistake there, Johnny...big, big big mistake. We had to watch it about 4 or five times, just to get all the laughing out of our systems. I never cared much for ms. Hilton, but I have a new respect for her now. "Thanks for the nomination, old dude!"
And now I'll rest up a bit before I type up some union stuff and unplug my brains with Ben the Neighbor, a cocktail and Project Runway...
