Lovefest with llamas...

...Oh all right, alpacas. Sheesh...

Matt, Erin, Liz and I all went out to the Whispering oaks alpaca farm to cavort and play with the alpacas and buy some roving. Matt had the best blackmail photo ever of me with an alpaca...*sniffle* I can never run for president now...

We stocked up on apples from Hillcrest orchards, and stuffed our faces with dim sum from JunBo. Then after a brief but rewarding stop at Depth of Field, we went back to the Sweeties' house and I coached Liz on her brand spanking new spinning technique with her new drop spindle. I am now officially Yarn Sensei...I rock the niddy noddy, people!!!

It's the perfect day, really...yarn and apples, dumplings and happy couch-sitting. I wish I could do this all week:)

Hey, you can have the next best thing...I have lots of alpaca roving in charcoal grey and fawn-white-black and bright orange. I can spin it up for you, and you can buy it and pet it and squeeze it and call it George!

*pets soft soft roving*

I even got to work the drum carder, bebeh!!

Or you can just go visit them yourself, they have open house next weekend and the weekend after that. (You are local, yes? I forget.)

I still haven't been able to buy your yarn yet... maybe in a few weeks from now. I have to pay rent, auto and home insurance and get a haircut that's somewhat stylish with this Friday's paycheck!

Hey, no worries...I have tons of yarn, and nobody's bought the autumn one or the browns yet. Plus I'm almost done with a blood red-and black merino two ply with red and black beads I'm calling Countess Bathory. So take your time--I know what it is to be really broke...

...and if you want me to reserve one for you, lemme know--I think the site lets me do that.
