Quiet...

It was a cold and gloomy day...(No, I haven't been taking a creative writing class:P)

There was some thrift-shopping with the Queen of Stuff, where I picked up some very very soft sweaters. Since they're thrift-store stuff I'm hand washing them in the sink--hot water, NO AGITATION...(I know you don't use hot water for wool, but the main trick is just to lay it in very gently...don't even look at it. Just wait a while, then veeeeery gently change the water when the water cools down of it's own accord.) This is just because I well remember Miss Kitty ending up with tiny livestock from sweaters that weren't apparently washed correctly when they were dropped off at the thrift store she bought them from...

Now I'm home--the Q of S has an online thingy tonight, so I've got a chance to putter and maybe watch some kind of wonderful trashy film and spin at the same time. Tomorrow I'm teaching the Pink Satan to spin on a wheel--she's bought Vasilisa the Brave from Peaty, so I'll have to round up that wheel's lovely acoutrements for her--her trousseau, I suppose. I think Liz will be very very happy on a wheel, and it feels nice to pass on what I've taught myself to other people and have it serve them well...

And at the moment...it's very, very quiet...

Be vewy vewy quiet

>>Is that the Super Happy Fun Ball technique? ;) You reminded me of a Mitch Hedberg quote. "This shirt is dry-clean only...which means it's dirty."

*Chuckle*

You can wash anything...ANYTHING, if you know what the fibers need and what they do. Dry cleaning is not necessary for the most part, it's just to keep your creases lined up and whatnot. Most things on the planet have to have contact with water at some point...okay, except for pure sodium, I'll give you that one.
