Dear Santy Claus...
Dec. 9th, 2008 08:29 pmHello again, Mr. Santy Claus. You remember me, I'm the lady in the yellow house who writes you once a year along with everybody else. You'd remember me because I keep asking for things like yarn and world peace and whatnot. (And on the yarn front, you really don't disappoint. Of course the world peace thing really isn't your specialty, but it's kind of nice to ask anyway.)
I have been ever so good this year--I helped my union negotiate their contract, led tours about art and beheadings, cleaned my room and shoveled a *lot* of snow. I didn't set anyone on fire, even though I thought about it a few times. I ate lots of vegetables, and shared any cupcakes that I happened to have lying around. I even have a bigger tree this year to stick presents under, so you don't have to squeeze them all under the Gothmas tree this time... So here's my list for this holiday:
Cool historical books, or books about ghosts, or cool historical ghosts--anything along those lines. Oh, you know just about any cool book that makes it to my house will be treasured and loved...
A copy of "Howl's Moving Castle"--Okay, it's mostly about that house with the legs.
While I'm at it, how about some mechanical legs for the Maushaus? It would look adorable if it could move around from time to time. And if those legs had webbed feet, we could take it onto the river!!!
A large pirate flag. And perhaps an eyepatch. (See "Mechanical legs with webbed feet")
More free time to work on projects and spend with loved ones. I think this would involve a large bag of money. But I think I've asked for this a couple of times by now, and while I'm good, I'm probably not quite that good. So just some nice free time would be dandy...
Any interesting yarns or wool rovings you think would be nice. I promise, I'll make you a big red and white hat--that old one you're wearing is probably all pilled up by now...
A big sack of happiness to pour out for friends. Some of them have been having a very rough time of things lately, so it would be nice to have an emergency supply, ready on hand...
Hope for the new year. That's my big one, and it's looking a lot better this year than last...
Thank you, and like every year I'm holding up my end of the deal--cupcakes and Bailey's hot chocolate under the tree. Ben and Peat have the reindeer kibbles over by the chicken coop, and if you're not up for all that sugar they can make you a stunningly good quiche...
Love,
Ms Mausi, the yellow house by the river with the nice new cedar roof...

"Dear Santa Cthuhlu, I would like to have eeeeeevil dominion over other humans and most chickens before you eat the entire planet as a ten-course meal with cheese and soup. I have been bad, very very bad, and I will leave out many many horribly sacrificed Teletubbies dolls to show I mean business...
I live to serve your tentacled wisdom,
Ms Fledermaus..."

Sheeps!!
Date: 2008-12-10 02:00 pm (UTC)Hey, did your t-shirt get to you okay?
Re: Sheeps!!
Date: 2008-12-10 07:08 pm (UTC)The T-shirt arrived -- in two days, no less! It's way too big for me, so Beth will use it as a sleep-shirt.
Thanks in both instances.
Hmm... not-yarn...

Date: 2008-12-10 08:39 pm (UTC)I'm glad the yarn was a hit:) Camelids rule!
Yeah, I was bummed that they only had the large sizes left...I'm just hoping it will shrink like crazy in the wash. I hope Beth enjoys it, and I'll keep my eyes out for better MIA stuff...
Yes, not-yarn...the world is divided into yarn and not-yarn...
