A morning with a Maus and a Bunneh...
Jan. 7th, 2009 08:02 amI love Wednesday mornings. It's the morning where I get to sleep in until 7, and have lots of time to get ready for work. Usually I read myself to sleep the night before until whenever I want, so that makes my rest even better...
I've been adjusting to the new routine with Shamu pretty well. He's a pretty smart little guy...I've been training him to learn that when I come home, I open the front of his cage so he can come out and play in the living room for a while...This morning when I put more hay in his cage he nudged his door and looked at me, like he was saying, "Please, can I come out?" So he's had a romp while I made breakfast and collected my things for work. I haven't had to chase him back into his hutch, either...when he's done with romping or hungry or wants his litter box, he just hops back in, and I close the door...He also keeps nudging my ankles when I sit on the floor when he wants to be petted, which is endearing.
There's still some knitting and whatnot going on, but I've written off this week as Getting Used to Bunneh week. I watched Watership Down last night... I am a great big sappy human...
Otherwise, things are going better than I'd hoped for at the Jade Mines. I get to keep my schedule pretty much as it is, which is nice. I took tomorrow off for a 3-day weekend. I will doubtless use the time to spin a *lot* of angora. And play with Shamu:)
Here's an action-photo I took as he was scampering across the rugs in the living room...I'm afraid it's just the butt-shot:
