msfledermausI'm staying home from work today because of the Lamest Injury Ever...I was packing up some things for a green curry with shrimp, and I dropped a can of coconut milk on my foot...there was much frenzied hopping, and expletive-laced yelling. You can see a nice bruise-line just below my toes on my right foot, so I figure I'll give it a day to heal before I walk all around the Jade Mines on it. *waggles toes gingerly*
Foot aside, things are okay though. Ben the Neighbor came over yesterday with Peaty, and we had the best chicken soup I'd ever tasted. The boys have tons of cream to give the neighborhood, apparently, so I'm going to have to make cream-cakes or something soon. Peaty brought a HUGE bag of wood chips and another HUGE bag of kibbles for Shamu, and tried to get me to take Alfred as well...I had to respectfully decline. It sounds like the dynamics of the Chicken-Mothers are getting weird, and it's a bit of a shame...I'm still hoping they can all come to a better agreement for the sake of birds. But we'll see how things shake down...
Also, Matt helped me yesterday by archiving this journal...9 years! 9 years of archiving!! Great Googaly Moogaly!! It was kind of fun sneaking peeks of very very early posts from waaaaay back when, while it was compiling. And now the whole thing is safe on a cd in case LJ springs a leak and goes down like the Titanic. Speaking of which, I joined Livejournal Lifeboat on Facebook just in case...so there's just no shutting me up, nope, nope...
So today the plan is: Be kind to my hurt foot. Pat the Bunny. Love my friends. Get a nap. Eat some cake. Pretty much in that order...
