This week I feel kind of dull...dull, quiet, not very interesting. The weather has definitely perked me up some, but I feel like my brain has taken a small vacation and left me behind. At the Jade Mines I'm trying to keep it happy by figuring out knitting patterns from the sweaters and scarves I see people wearing. I make up little plays, I think of cool things to paint or read. This week it's more of a struggle.

On top of this, I had a breakfast burrito this morning, and the guacamole I bought was too spicy. It was good, but my mouth, it burns. Ow. Ow. Ow...

I think February has that effect on people. It's gorgeous here, today. I hope the same for you, and a nice walk around your Island when you get home.

I've felt dull-uninspired-devoid of genuine enthusiasm, so I decided to give might left hemisphere the night off yesterday... Shared secrets with a perfect stranger. Despite being in South Eastern MN, I had a good time.

Have you read Neil Gaiman's Coraline? I feel like a cheat if I see the animation before reading the book.

BTW, this comment will have to double as your Valentine ;^) {{{Mausi}}}

It's good to give the brains a break, I find...

I have a copy of Coraline in my bookcase...signed, with a big rat Neil drew in for me. (He was having the best time drawing rats at the signing I went to:) I can't wait to see the movie, the story is really good!

And Happy Valentine's day to you too!!!

We're talking about the same woman who wolfed down two plates of spicy yellow duck curry at that fancy Thai restaurant... and a little guacamole's giving you grief? Sheesh. :-)

I know!! It's gotta be pretty hot for me to suffer outright. I think I must have bitten down on a pepper. I know Mexican-spicy and curry-spicy have a different kind of burn, too...Mexican tends to whack you in the face all at once, and curry is a sneaky, sneaky build that waits until it's *too late* for you to sob and guzzle water which never ever helps...
