Tomorrow will be the Festival of the Guy with the Green Beer...Um, I mean, St. Patrick's day.

I have mixed feelings about St.Patrick's day. They break down like this:

Happy people wearing green: Good!
Beer: Good!
Parades: Good!
Blarney: Good!
Potatoes: Really, really good!
Springtime: Good good good!
Happy drunken people wearing green and picking fights downtown while watching the parade: Bad.
Bad Irish accents: Bad.
Parades that do not let gay Irish folks parade: Bad.
The cabbage part of corned beef and cabbage: Bad bad bad bad!
St.Patrick driving all the Pagan folks out of Ireland in a metaphor: Baddity bad bad.
Throwing up green beer: Bad, and all too common.
Driving drunk while wearing green and smelling like cabbage: As bad as it gets, people...

I dunno whether I'll check out the parade or not on the way home...but I might, just for the good bits...

Oh, almost forgot! For St Patricks I took out a showcase on Etsy, since I'm doing some spring cleaning there. I'm always excited when I put up an ad:) And some nice lady added me to her treasury board, so more people are looking at my page. *beams proudly with all the proud*

I stay home on St. Patrick's day. It's sort of just a green version of New Year's Eve.

I did brave downtown to see the parade, and it was really fun...I did get beer spilled on my coat, though...

It was better when I came home to the Island and we had the bonfire out back:)

I'll be on my way home around 5-ish... if you'll be coming back at the same time, wanna swing by the pub and see if we can get a sidewalk table to watch the parade, then go shopping at the downtown target all full of green beer?
