I was having an anxious yarn-finding mission in my house yesterday when I noticed I had a message from the Queen of Meat. She'd been experimenting with a new maple-beef pie, and would I like to try it out? I should finish my house-stuff, I should I should I should...pie?

Five minutes later:
Liz: "How's the pie? Bottom crust too chewy?"
Nick: "Yeah, what's the verdict?"
Me: "Can't talk...eating!! Mrrf, mrrflr mfff!" *chew chew chew*

So after my stuffing-of-face with pie was complete, we went to see if another neighbor was home for a pie invasion...no such luck, sadly. So we popped up at Ben the Neighbor's door, yelling, "Open up in there! Pie Invasion!" Liz presented Ben with a huge slice of the meatyness, and a very nice jar of homemade blueberry jam. (I have one too--sitting in the fridge, being tasty.)
Then Nick went off to help put the chickens to bed, while Liz and I caught up over bunny-romping and yarn... (I had left the door open for Nick when he was done chicken-ing, but he didn't hear me telling him, so he tromped around in pink plaid wellington boots looking for Liz. D'ohhhhhh... Sorry, Nick!)

At any rate, I fell face-first into bed, tired and stuffed full of pie...and couldn't sleep for a while. Arrrrgh. But I feel more rested than I should be. Ah, the healing powers of pie...
