I'm watching the sun go down over the river...truly beautiful.

Today was a pretty gentle, fun day--I got to spend a lot of it with Matt and the Gaily-Waily at work. Then we came back to the Island, ate sandwiches and drank a grapefruit cocktail I whipped up on the spur of the moment. Then Peaty and Rocky stopped by, harvesting greens and tomatoes and such. So now I have a fridge stuffed with basil and mint leaves and tomatoes in a bowl on the counter...

Oh yeah, and a cup of elderberries. I think I'll boil them up with honey and make a syrup for toast or something:)

It's just a beautiful, beautiful night...

I don't know why, but the word bucolic always sounds like some sort of virulent disease to me. "Ooo, look at the bucolic plague-trees blooming in the sunset..."

Maybe I'm thinking of a combination of bubonic plague and colic?

But yes, it was a lovely evening.

I like your definition better than the actual...Bucolic does sound like you're recovering from terrible, terrible buboes and boils!
