Dreaming...

msfledermausI dreamed about a lot of things, but the dream that stuck in my mind was being on the shore of a lake with a group a people I didn't know very well. (It looked like the grounds of a big house, maybe a mansion.) By the water were large waving bushes with flowers--some like white water lillies, cupped like small white bells, and some were like pampas grass, like silky white horsetails waving in the wind. I wandered away from the group and carefully picked some of the flowers...I remember making it a point to not strip an entire plant, just to take a flower or two from each one to put in a vase at home. People kept coming up to me, constantly talking about how important their jobs were or politics or news, but I kept tuning them out, going back to my lillies and horsetails....
When I woke up, I thought about the dream. that's often what I do lately...Aquainances stop by and make small talk and (It's impolite of me) I usually nod and smile and say very little...then go back to the flowers in my head.
It's like I'm holding something quiet and beautiful and unnoticed, like those flowers were in my dreams. Then more rarely I get a chance to actually talk to someone, and that's the same feeling of something rare and precious.
I get that tight, precious feeling with LJ too...Mostly because I think it's easier to reach a wider band of people you have something in common with...You're lillies, that's what you are, you people...Yes, I'm being romantic and gooey, shut up and go with it...

Ms Eff, filling the vases in her head with waving white flowers and green stems.
I wish you could have seen them, they were so lovely...
