msfledermaus | Another evening with the Voices in my Head...

It's dark and cold, and I'm hanging out in the kitchen with several of my beloved Inner Voices telling me what's what...

Practical me: "Crap, I wish I could have found the other snow shovel. And I need to call Steve the neighbor; I kinda broke his shovel."

Snarky me: "Not really--the other neighbor did it. You just broke it the rest of the way. It was waaaay broken before you got your mitts on it. So there."

Anxious me: "But, won't there be trouble? Gods know there's been trouble lately. I don't like it, no I do not, don't like it!"

Snarky me: "Hush, you, and drink your warm milk. Practical put in some of that honey-liqueur you like."

Anxious me: "That's not like her. I don't drink on work nights, I'll be a drink-sozzled addict, nooooooooooomaybe just a little." *glugs cup*

Practical me: "Well, it's cold out, and I was shoveling, and wanted to warm up a little. Besides, we're lucky. Everybody I know is having a bad time of things, what with the broken limbs and the bad luck and whatnot. Anxious, go pet the bunny until you feel better, okay? Off you go..."

Snarky me. "Yeah, and today I nearly had to work a sixteen hour shift at work, then come back 5 hours later. You're damn right we're lucky. I can't believe some other sucker signed up for it."

Practical me: "I would have got through it."

Snarky me: "Yes, you would have. You would have made us all miserable with your puritan work ethic and how it's for the Greater Good and all that crap I usually ignore from you..."

Creative me: "I'm just glad I'm home with all the fluff. And the bunny what makes the fluff."

Practical me: "I agree. The house needs a tidying, really."

Snarky me: "Okay, you with the tidying--shut it! I'm hanging out with Anxious and Creative and the rabbit. If you really want to be helpful, you can scrub some of the glitter-glue off Crazy while we relax..."

And there we are, a lovely way to spend an evening home that almost wasn't...
