*Looks up at the darkening sky*
Apr. 2nd, 2010 08:22 amYesterday seemed like it was never going to end...but now I've reached the far gentler shores of Weekend. Weekend is an island of peace, serenity and napping. Weekend is a glorious fantasy land of freedom, creative opportunity, and bunny-petting.
And if it rains today, I can just nap that much easier. That's not a bad thing...

Metmow religion
Date: 2010-04-02 09:49 pm (UTC)The Metmow has two religions: Judaism (sort of a combo of Reconstructionism and Jewish Renewal) and Orthodox Theism (sort of Unitarianism without any reference to Christianity). Judaism is led by the wise Owl Rabbi, and his congregants include the Stegosauruses (Samuel and Sandra, and their children, Daffodil and Steamboat Pete) and the Triceratopses (Terry, Rose, and child Menachem; Teddy, Dotty, and child Mendel). The synagogue boasts a Bird Choir -- the joke is that the birds just sing. The Orthodox Theists don't have a leader, but they go to meeting, have periods of silent meditation, and hear essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson -- "Nature" is a favorite. They celebrate Christmas and Easter without reference to the Nativity, Passion, or Resurrection. At present, the current Easter Bunny, Billy (about whom more will be said later) is receiving the Fabergé eggs from the Fabergé chickens.
Thanks for the suggestion!
