Yesterday seemed like it was never going to end...but now I've reached the far gentler shores of Weekend. Weekend is an island of peace, serenity and napping. Weekend is a glorious fantasy land of freedom, creative opportunity, and bunny-petting.

And if it rains today, I can just nap that much easier. That's not a bad thing...

Hooray! Pet that bunny! A free Maus is a happy Maus.

Once we get through today, a fine weekend will be ours, too. We're looking forward to it.

I think after this week we all need a quiet lie-down...and if some turtles stop by later with tea and little petit-fours, that would be alright, too:)

A new turtle story has just been posted! I do wish that they would stop around here, although a special Passover trolley would be required.

I was reading through the stories this morning, and it just made me so happy...

I think a Passover trolley would be a good story too--challenging, but entertaining:)

Metmow religion

The religious nature of the Metmow is something I've worked out but have yet to get into. I'm a little shy of posting stories about it until the Trolley is much more established.

The Metmow has two religions: Judaism (sort of a combo of Reconstructionism and Jewish Renewal) and Orthodox Theism (sort of Unitarianism without any reference to Christianity). Judaism is led by the wise Owl Rabbi, and his congregants include the Stegosauruses (Samuel and Sandra, and their children, Daffodil and Steamboat Pete) and the Triceratopses (Terry, Rose, and child Menachem; Teddy, Dotty, and child Mendel). The synagogue boasts a Bird Choir -- the joke is that the birds just sing. The Orthodox Theists don't have a leader, but they go to meeting, have periods of silent meditation, and hear essays by Ralph Waldo Emerson -- "Nature" is a favorite. They celebrate Christmas and Easter without reference to the Nativity, Passion, or Resurrection. At present, the current Easter Bunny, Billy (about whom more will be said later) is receiving the Fabergé eggs from the Fabergé chickens.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Rain will wash it all away. And yes, pet that bunny...vigorously. XD

I'm dressing him with a paper pirate hat tomorrow and lots of easter eggs for a picture. He needs his quota of pets before he consents to such shenanigans...
