Good thing: I went comics shopping this weekend, and have many luscious things to read!
Bad thing: It's still muggy and hot outside...I feel like the pages will melt when I touch 'em...

More later, off to mine the Mines for things that come out of mines that aren't horrible...

You fear to go into those mines. The curators delved too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness of Ne-ephrite ... shadow and flame.

"Aw, crap, it's a Balrog!"
"What's a Balrog?"
"Elvish for, "You are SO screwed!" Run!"

When I was 8 mos. pregnant (and we didn't have any A/C) my favorite thing to do was lay back on the bed reading comic books and loving every little breeze that happened by.

I love comics. What are you reading?

My faves are The Boys, Chew, American Vampire, and the Victorian Undead (which is over now.) There's also Fables, iZombie, and Crossed (which is a terrifying series.) :D

But, I know the feeling ;)

It's been really hot this summer in NYC too (as you might know, or have heard; meanwhile a friend in California reports that it is freezing. Global warming, I am glad to have been used to unpredictability by now ;)

There is a part of me that'd love to someday have an excuse to visit you guys in Minnesota.

I've heard that NYC has become a giant sauna, yes indeed...we feel for you here in the muggy swamp...

And I would be delighted to hear you were stopping around for a visit. Good comic stores and other people's comic stashes are always a wonderful reason to check out new cities:)

My favorite comic ("Finder" by Carla Speed Mc Neil) never seems to come out anymore .. I seem to be reading adaptations ("Buffy," "Angel," "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" "The Guild," and "Dust to Dust" (do androids dream of electric sheep's prequel).

I keep seeing "finder" around, but I keep thinking of the Emma Bull novel of the same title I love, so I usually pass it by. Maybe I should rethink that!
