Patio...

There was some lovely, lovely patio time yesterday, and a bonfire in the evening. Liz had hot cookies. There were sausages. And beer. And it was really nice, even with all the mosquitoes...

This is my favorite time of year--when autumn is getting a decent toehold, but it's still a little warm. The sun is golden and the flowers are finishing up. The air has a faint cold snap. The geese are filling their bellies before they start to migrate. I get to break out my sweaters. I also usually start buying things like stationary and extra books as a memory of getting ready for school. (Right now I'm in the middle of Poppy Z. Brite's "Liquor"--incredibly addictive, might I add!)

I'm glad the weather's nice enough for a few more gatherings outdoors. It's my favorite part of Island life...

I bet you were...and I went over to Matt and the E's house for a bit before the festivities started! Meh! I would have loved to see you both. I guess this means we have to do more, very soon!

I know! I swear I just washed and packed everything last week or so...but it will be good to get everything out again:)
