October shopping...

Yesterday I went out with Erin to various thrift stores,to find woolly sweaters to felt up and cut up into new things. We didn't find much on the sweater front, but since it's October the stores helpfully had all the spooky things and black stuff out front and center. I picked out new trim for the Gothmas tree this year, as well as fun votive holders and a spooky tablecloth and towels...

I do most of my home-decoration shopping about this time of year. It's the only time that the stores put out things that I actually want to have in my home. And then right after Halloween I really clean out the bargain bins. I think most of the decorations for the Gothmas tree were scavenged that way...

I did draw the line at the pet costumes. Cute as Shamu would have been dressed up as a tiny ladybug, he would never, ever have forgiven me...

In January I found a Santa costume and an elf costume for the man cats in the clearance bin for a dollar. I doubt they'll ever actually wear them, obviously, but I had to.
