Sorry, folks, I haven't been on here much lately. It hasn't helped that the weather has been bad. Everybody local knows about the tornado that hit North yesterday, and I've been concerned with loved ones living down South. But things are okay here...and I feel really lucky that the island didn't get thrashed and thrown into the river to float down to New Orleans. We didn't get a scratch here, not a roof tile was lost. Lucky, I tellya...

Anyway, my list:

My neighbors Phil and Karen had their baby, Benjamin Leo Cross/Ward. I got to hold him yesterday, and it was wonderful stuff. Even though a few of us are disappointed that he wasn't named, "Danzig Pantera Ward", we'll get over it...

I did have to herd a whooooole lotta people over to the nice, windowless hallway at the Mines Sunday afternoon, away from the windows. After the novelty wore off, people started wandering off, or trying to eat their lunches by the nice, big plate-glass windows featuring the evil green sky. I know, as Minnesotans we usually don't that this sort of thing seriously, but a little self-preservation would have been nice. My favorite line of the day was from a patron of Gails' trying to clear the Mezzanine:"But what about my SALAD?!?!" as the chefs are diving deep into the kitchen in fear and the lights flicker...

I got free gum today at the convenience store, because I'm a cute girl. It's nice to know I can still get cute-girl gum sometimes...

There was yarn to mail...Australia! It's getting cold in Australia, so my yarn sales are swinging up again. Man, do I love me some Ozzies!

Anyway... I really should get in the habit of posting more. It's nice to work through things by writing, and addictive as the dribs and drabs of Facebook and Twitter can be, it's not a replacement for a single, coherent thought.
