....Bliss....
I had the best time Downtown at lunchtime. down by Orchestra hall all the booths were open and everything smelled like barbecue.
(it was completely intoxicating--chicken sandwichmmmmm..) I waded through the croud of people toting plastic bags full of flowers and bananas and tomatoes and in the happy melee I picked out peppers, mushrooms, white peaches, apricots, and a bag of grapes to share with the coworkers. (Well, can't live on carrot cake all the time.*grin*) The wind was (and is) cool and perfect, just like the earliest hint of autumn, and the fountains spraying around Orchestra Hall and the park I cut through made the breezes even cooler. (I hopped into a bit of spray on purpose.) Everywhere I looked I saw people relaxing, enjoying the break from the heat--not a grim face in the bunch. As I trotted back to work with my prizes I "tested" the grapes...quite a few grapes. (I didn't want to give my coworkers inferior fruit, now, did I?)
These are the days I crave when it drops to 10 degrees below zero and I forget that I hate the heat.
Ms Eff. The peaches are perfect as well...but I think I'll wait to test the apricots.
