The really really big company party's being assembled by the carpenter-shop guys in the basement, who have been working on this shindy for 2 weeks now in secret...I got a quick peek in at the room...gold...white and gold...stunning what you cn do with a great deal of gold paint. I'm making paper orgami iris hairpins out of white post-its, bent paperclips, and, well, gold paint, if I can borrow some from the basement guys.
(It's thematic, bring or wear something in white and gold. I don't wear much white, so hairpins should do the job nicely.) If I can get a picture, I'll try to scan it at some point, it really is gorgeous.

Ms f, with a quick worktime interlude...if this sounds wierd, keep in mind I work for a museum in Minnesota, won't name them but they rhyme with 'Stalker":)

But, um, er, make sure they have good *cooked* food too, because, although some of my best friends love sushi (and wasabi!), I can't eat the stuff.

Hmmm,...Tempura? (a notable lack of wasabi there:)

I love tempura, but it doesn't like me. My favorite Japanese menu dish is at a restaurant near my house: seafood kushiyaki, which is assorted cooked seafood on skewers over a bed of steaming veges - mmmmm! However, I haven't seen that anywhere else. I could settle for udon or sushiyaki or teriyaki, as long as the chilled sake is superb!

Double hmmm...I think I could try to find that, usually the cooks are pretty good at requests at Fuji-Ya and Kikugawa. (and their sake is very fine...oh, now you've done it!!!Hot saki in a hot tub and a plate of pickled veggies nearby....*sigh* I'm useless for anything now:)
