I got tired of being invisible. I got lonely. *Grin*

I had a great night last night--I went home, grabbed a nap, and went out to a friend's house for salmon grilled in the backyard.
We sat outside and felt for raindrops and drank Guinness and chewed on popsicles for dessert. (I love the way a popsicle magically makes you 10 years old. Blue raspberry...ahhhh.)

But I think I need another nap after work...this social butterfly needs some cocoon-time tonight.

Ms Eff, appreciating the warm taste of coffee, the promise of rain in the sky, the prospect of a grilled cheese sammitch in my near future...

...a posted thread I was just reading made me think strongly of an installation I was fond of that was in Rhymes-With-Stalker years ago...Derek Jarman's "Blue". It was a room painted in black, like a movie theatre, with a screen showing nothing but blue light..and a soundtrack of Derek's losing struggle with Aids, his philosophical questions in the face of it, and the visions in his mind as the illness robbed him of sight.

I loved that installation so much. I was heartbroken when it was taken down. Mr. Jarman had taught me so much about bravery in the face of extinction, of the power of the creative imagination, of healing and rage and sorrow. And wisdom. Over the years the whispering and shouting and music of the installaton followed me through every day I worked in the galleries. It helped me heal a badly broken heart, and taught me to see wonders on closed eyelids.

It's an uncomfortable feeling to miss someone you never met.

Ms Eff. I've got the Cd, it's not quite the same unless you close your eyes tight and think of a blue square in front of you...

I found a magazine photo of a Leonora Carrington painting. ("The Cockcrow") I think I'll take it home and mount it somewhere by my drawing table.

I read an article about the old Roman sculpting trick of using the bust of a discredited person (often Imperial) to make a new bust of another person. (often also imperial, an example was a bust of Caligula altered to the face of Augustus.) Also portraits of unfavored rulers were often mauled by chisels and set out in public as a reminder of their maligned status. (The term was "Damnicus Memorae" if I remember it properly.) That's why you often see Roman busts without ears, noses, etcetra...they were cutting off the noses to spite the faces:)
So now you have a History lesson for the day...

I hung out with Rob a little bit--his Nessie postcard didn't make it to Scotland in time for it to be sent back in to AZ Gallery, so he had a bright fistful of postcards with high towers in cheerful 50's colors...apparently he's going to paint Superman in them. *grin* He never fails to amaze me.

I also got lettuce everywhere...and still have some pink lemonade left.

I'm running out of books to read. (This is a perennial problem for me, I go through about two books a week, sometimes three. Don't ask me to count the comics. Yes, I'm a geek, now shut up and just go with it...:))

Shucky darn, guess I'll have to hit Dreamhaven this week. (Funny, I don't seem very repentant.) Lalalaaaa...Anybody got any suggestions? What are you reading? What are you wearing?(Oops, wait, aheh, you don't have to answer that. Ummm..nice day out. *cough*)

Ms Eff, looking forward to a night bouncing around in her kimono, selecting the Bath Goop of the Evening and jumping up and down very fast to something.
