I did a lot more sketching last night. I have an old drawing book from the 50's that I use sometimes for a brush-up. I'll do the exercises and then do something horrible to the pictures. (for example: a nice cornfield with a farmhouse in the background, a corn shock and pumpkin in the middle ground and a fence rail in the front. In my hands, the house becomes Victorian and spooky, the railing a small tombstone and that pumpkin...oh, nooo, not the pumpkin....)

I also came up with a good one-page comic for Valentine's day. I'm still inkng it, but I can put the text in here later today...

We're having a huge party for a coworker of mine for his 15th anniversary here. It's a Survivor-themed party, lots of jungle stuff and stuffy monkeys and zebra-print decorations. Tiki-partyyyyy!!!!! (Where's my grass skirt?)

The wind is howling like an angry animal outside. It's not really very cold, about 30 degrees...but that wind cuts right through you like you aren't even there. Brrrr....

I got not one but *two* more little love-notes from the person I call the Danish Art-Terrorist-Wannabee. I'm disposing of the envelopes with extreme prejudice....and a lighter.

Off to see the madness next door, more later...

MIRRORS.

It has always been rumored that there exists a miror that will show you your true love.
*Drawing of a mirror surmounted by Greco-Roman wings and a heart with the words "amor" written on it*

Anyone who gazed into it would see their love behind them.
*Drawing of the mirror sideways on a wall with a Victorian lady in front of it, tentatively looking behind her*

Though such a gift seems wonderous, it's existence is also responsible for great sorrow and pain. Several suicides and a minor war caused it to be hidden from view to this very day.
*drawing of a covered yet still recognizable mirror with velvet ropes cordoning it off*

There are also rumors of a second mirror, which shows you the faces of those who will break your heart...
*drawing of a mirror surmounted by bat wings and a heart split in two, with pieces decorating the sides of the frame.*

The less said about this one's history, the better....

(So...whaddaya think?)

Eew...

The Restaurant of the Beat made pierogies today...for the exorbitant amount of 7 bucks my friend Rob recieved two (2) pierogies that obviously came from a supermarket freezer, literally drowned in some vile-looking saurkraut cream sauce with onions and chives...Rob amused himself and us (sorta) by picking up some of the glop with his knife an leting it *sliiiide* back into the takeout container.

I should have sent up a squadron of Ukranian grandmothers to smack whoever planned that atrocity. I'm just lucky I brought my luscious Hot Pocket to work with me. (Okay, not that much better, but at least it's 6 bucks cheaper and no saurkraut in sight.)
