I went to Ruby's last night early go grab a table for me and Mikhail for dinner goodness. But when I went up to the window, I could see not only were they closed but had soot marks all over the window--they had a fire!!! (I hope they can rebuild okay--Ruby's is a favorite of mine, not least because of the very very very sparkly decor...very art-deco in mirrors, brushed aluminun, neon and ruby-red.)

So I killed some time next door in the incredible stationary store and print shop. (gotta feed the art-monkey regular. Oop oop!) And I waited outside for a bit so Mikhail could see me, and watched the hundreds of crows descend on Loring and blanket the trees...the skies actually darkened a bit as they came swooping over in the dusky air. Beautiful and a bit disturbing, even for me. (I like crows.)

Anyway, we ended up at Joe's Garage and had a great time.

And this morning...having those wonderful biological feelings known as....cramps. Yes, yes, TMI, but you try shutting up about stuff like that when you have guys reading your Lj and you're kind of evil and you know for a fact they're all going, "OOg!" when you write about it. Sorry, guys. I'm just a bad, bad Maus, and it's that simple. And you know I love you, so there...

Ms Eff...who loves you, babies?

Heehee...

I just mailed off a handful of valentines...so if they don't come on the proper day, keep your hopes up because they ARE coming:)

(And they were fun to make, too. It's very thereaputic to cut little hearts out of paper...reminded me of being in grade school without the paste-eating incidents. *grin*)

Damn me!!!

*dabs with kleenex, getting white lint all over my grey shirt*

...my blue work Imac is sporting a lovely blue bead french-hook earring?

It's true. Someone dropped it, so it's taped to a post-it hanging jauntily on the side with a note. I hope someone loses the second one so the Imac can have a matching pair....

It's a happy grinning skeleton in a tiny coffin, with a red heart around it and lots of white space.
(It's a lot more cheerful than it sounds, really! It's kind of spookily cute.)

Who wants it?
*dances it around the desk*

I don't know why I'm being so weird about valentine's day. I've just been having fun making things for people, in this happily manic sort of way. Maybe I just want Lupercalia, the original Roman festival instead...more like a giant lusty party than anything else.

Ms Eff, having fun with the skeleton card. "Say hello to the folks, Yorick!" "Hello, folks!"
