I was just writing to my friend Malcolm in Sydney...

...Admiring the pics of his growing son, (If his dad's any measure, the kid will end up being 9 feet tall or something!) and telling him bits and pieces of our local political stuff. I was telling him about our conceal-and-carry law,
and the recent string of shootings we've been having--incuding the one yesterday at the Govermnet center and the school shooting last week. I just felt so frustrated and sad at the floundering quagmire our country's been stuck in...I wished I could give him better news than that. Heck, I should have told him about the goofy giant game the city was playing, with gigantic pawns and huge dice. Maybe I should write him back, he'd get a kick out of the whole idea.

I did tell him about the show I'm getting up in November. It's not a big show, I'm sharing the space with an aquaintance, but these days I'll take any opportunity to put artwork on the walls. If I'm a good Maus I'll have a new piece to put up and everything. I just have to put down the damn knitting for a little bit--just cut down to an hour or so a day:)

*eats oatmeal at the screen*
