Sock-puppet funnery, life doing what life does...

I had a bit of a weekend, mostly spent lazy and happy. But this week's gotten busier than I'd anticipated...

...Tuesday's knitting turned out to be incredibly funny, since it was also open-mike night. My finished sock gave a monologue courtesy of my cow irker Gail, with me doing dramatic music and knitting in the background. Next Tuesday I'm bringing more socks, and looting my Shakespeare books for a nice short funny bit to try. Yes, I am a very very sick girl.

...I had a lovely time hanging out with friends and their cats. It's good being a cat auntie.

...I went to Mai Village for dinner. Wowwwwwww!!!

...I finally broke down and got a cellphone. Yes, a cellphone. I can no longer claim to be a bitter Luddite, no matter how much handspun wool I have at home. It just made sense, since I'm out so much now and working funny hours to have a way to keep up with everything.

Workity workity workity...

..I've been working in one of the new bits here at the Jade Mines. It's still full of construction tweaking,but it's really nice; very pretty. (It's also the part that is going to give me weekends off very soon, so this makes me look at it with extra affection.)

I have to say, I really like my new job. Now that I've been here a while my breaks have gotten a little less funky. (We're still hiring, too, so this will keep pushing me up and up in seniority. Every little bit helps.) My cow irkers are by and large really excellent. The money's not bad. My bosses are....good. Holy cow, I have *good* bosses!!! Sometimes I have to smack myself repeatedly in the forehead to make it real to me....

I am a happy happy working munkay... Ook ook!
