...I got an idea for another calavera sort of thing. I have an mini-ofrenda that wasn't working out--it needed something. I just thought of what it could need.
Veil the figure, put in some extra stuff, maybe ...

And, yes, I often sublimate things that come out in art. That's what art does, ask Jackson Pollock, or De Kooning. I cling to it tenaciously. It's the only thing that's really, truly 100 percent mine. People and places mutate, change, drift away or come closer. Jobs change, possesions change, needs change, money comes and goes...but what I see and what I make are always with me. Cut off my hands and I'd learn to paint with my mouth or nudge stuff with my damn elbows. Make me into a disembodied head in a pan, and I'd make pretty pictures in my head until the Mad Scientist runs out of juice for me. Until I'm dead, this is mine. Maybe even after.

I'm in a weird mood, forgive that head-in-a-pan-thing.

I just loved the movie, "the head that wouldn't die" Where a mad scientist kept his girlfriend's head alive in a pan with electrodes. (She'd been decapitated in a car crash) Then of course the scientist stalked dancers to get his girlfriend a new body. The girlfriend was pretty pissed off about the whole thing. Classic B-movie stuff.

Did he manage to put her in another body?

Nope. another monstrous creation did him in before he could behead the unlucky dancer.

Ah - shame. There should have been a scene where the brain and the body won't co-operate.
