You know, it occurs to me that my life has definitely had it's hazards. Last night I was talking to my mom and she mentioned the *other* fire I was in when I was a teenager. This made me think of other times I've been danger-prone.
The list goes something like this:
Various near-drownings between the ages of 1 and 5. (I'm a much better swimmer now.)
Burning my fingers as a toddler on the stove.
Getting pneumonia when I was 3. (I hallucinated for a couple of days...Cartoon skeletons tap-dancing on the walls in front of me. Damn you, Walt Disney!!)
My stupid brother shooting me in the leg with a bow and arrow when I was 12.(Rassing frassing kid brother arrgh...)
A big fire at a senior citizen's complex I worked in as a teenager. (Of course I was working that day.) It burned to the ground, but nobody was hurt.
Nearly going off a 20 foot cliff after the car skidded out on some ice. *whew!*
Holding off two would-be-muggers with an empty Arizona tea bottle.(They got scared and ran away. I'm a mean Maus.)
Choking on a lamb-kebab two years ago. (I heimliched myself over the table, and it saved my life.)
And of course, my little adventure this weekend...I keep telling people, "NOOO, I DIDN'T do it!!! I had nothing to do with it!!!" My friends don't belive me...*grin*
