*racking brain*
Apr. 1st, 2002 02:14 pmWhat a day....it's snowing like crazy, I'm swamped with work, and I'm trying to recall the rest of a poem whose author I can't attribute...I can look it up at home, but my brain is stubborn...stubborn, stubborn brain...
How's this?
Date: 2002-04-01 01:03 pm (UTC)It's a Raymond Chandler Evening
At the end of someone's day
And I'm standing in my pocket
And I'm slowly turning grey
I remember what I told you 5
But I can't remember why
And the yellow leaves are falling
In a spiral from the sky
There's a body on the railings
That I can't identify 10
And I'd like to reassure you but
I'm not that kind of guy
It's a Raymond Chandler Evening
And the pavements are all wet
And I'm lurking in the shadows 15
'Cause it hasn't happened yet
