Since I'm no longer a Christian, I do not celebrate Easter; my son lives 1500 miles away; I've always hated Easter candy (since I was seven and I ate too much and got sick); I can't afford to buy candy even if I could afford the calories (have to watch my girlish figure, ya know); so I don't buy or eat Easter candy.

I'm Pagan meeself, so I can understand right well...but I do love me the occasional Easter bunny.

I've never been a Christian, but I like the time off work I get at Easter. The only celebrations involved are seeing relatives and trying to stop my children dying of chocolate poisoning. I've persuaded my SO not to give me chocolate because I don't want it much. I suspect that I would gain favour if I gave her some, though.

Anyway, my point is that I'm happy to enjoy anyone's festivals without taking an active part (provided I don't have to fast).

Pancake day is my favourite (see fasting above).

Pancake day?
(Shrove Tuesday, I'm guessing...I like pancakes!!!)

Hey, do you know how to put smiley faces on your pancakes? My stepdad taught me when I was a teenager:)

My dad always made our initials in ours.

Yes, it's Shrove Tuesday, but it's remembered here for the pancakes, as shroves are not so tasty.

How do you make them smile?

You first do the smiley in the pan with batter--two batter dots and a swipe of batter for the mouth. Let it cook a little bit, then cover them with more batter for the rest of the pancake. As Kev mentioned you can do initials and such too.

It's more fun to eat pancakes when they're smiling at you. *grin*

I don't celebrate Easter, but it is a nice excuse to get together with the family and carve eggs and things like that. ;-)
