I had a really lovely weekend. I did some shopping, went to a friend's engagement party, ran out at the last possible minute to the Mayday parade. (The parade was literally caling to me; I wasn't feeling well, but I couldn't get my shoes and purse fast enough to go cheer the return of the sun. Put a paper-mache' puppet head on something, and the Mauses will beat a path to your door.) I forgot sunscreen, so I'm a bit pink and freckly.
The parade really lit a fire in my head...I made it home before the thunderstorms hit, and watched the lightning flash and the sky darken while I dragged out my paints for the first time in 3 weeks. I started a new painting and am almost finished with one I was horribly stuck on for some time--it just needs the detail work now. It felt so good to paint with the rain hammering down in sheets outside....very cosy....
