msfledermausI finally finished the big watercolor I was working on...and it don't look half bad. I'm always living in dread of the Huge Catastrophic Painting That Won't Work At All. (Even though it wouldn't be realistic *not* to have some kind of idiotic mistake along the line; it's just how the process goes.)
Right now I'm taking a break on a friend's computer waiting for the watercolors I'm working on to dry. Ben's got some very nice orchids that are blooming right now; so I thought I'd have some fun painting them. So far so good, though I made a hash of one of the "sketch" paintings I did. (The kind of yellowsh-purple the orchids have are a devil to mix to get just right--I've scrubbed out 3 tries so far.)
Besides painting, it's been a relaxing day. Just sort of quiet and good.
