Pocari Sweat!!
Mar. 29th, 2001 02:36 pmSpent some time cruising the Engrish Homepage--a homepage full of Japanese products with badly translated English names to help their marketing.
Stuff like Pocari Sweat, Calpis, My Fanny toilet paper, Naive shampoo, and much longer ones that I had to show to my coworkers. If the URL link works, check it out...
Ms Eff, for Great Justice.
Oh, shoot, no URL space for me...well just type "Engrish" into a search engine--it's more work, but you won't be sorry...

*applauds happily*
Date: 2001-03-30 07:27 am (UTC)Let's try another one!!!
*ahem*
Let me empty this dustbin in the ummm...skip?
Ms Mausi, thinking this is harder than it looks...

Date: 2001-04-02 05:58 am (UTC)The funny part is that they used to pick up the bin from my back garden, but the council paid for me to have a new wheelie bin so that I could wheel it to the front gate myself. The dustmen don't have to walk about 10 to 15 yards up the side of my house, and somehow this saves more than enough to pay for a big green bin on wheels?
Stay tuned for more dull domestic economy here on the home shopping channel.
How much is the wheelie bin?
Date: 2001-04-02 07:00 am (UTC)And maybe some trashy cubic zirconium...thank goodness for the Home Shopping Network!!!
Ms Eff, paying money for dirt...wheee!

Re: Grrr...
Date: 2001-04-02 09:48 am (UTC)They got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It's no place for the old
When you first took my hand on a cold Christmas Eve
You promised me Broadway was waiting for me.
I know that one!!
Date: 2001-04-02 10:03 am (UTC)You were pretty,
Queen of New York City,
when the band finished playing they howled out for more;
(Something, something was swinging)
all the drunks they were singing,
We kissed on the corner and danced through the night;
The boys of the NY PD choir were singing, "Galway Bay"
and the bells were ringing out for Christmas day....
Ms Eff, okay I've got a soft spot for that song...thanks, J, S'been a long time...
