More vacation madness...

I finally took apart the Mac at home...that was really not too hard. What IS hard is figuring out if the modem is what looks like some kind of memory card behind where the phone jack is, or the "famillon" thing screwed in and imposing-looking behind the other Mystery Phone Jack...
I think I'm temporarily licked. I can get my neighbor Ben to see if he recognizes anything, then this weekend take the PC he found for me and set it up and go buy the modem for it. If I can pry the man away from his new boyfriend...well, maybe the boyfriend can help too, if I feed them both chili or something...
I do feel a small sense of triumph in taking the rassing frassing thing apart and holding it's guts in my hands ever so carefully.
Either way, I'm a bit closer to having the Ms Mausi Home Show.*grin*

But for now, I'm checking in at the cafe, waiting for Ruby Slippers to show up so we can go do something interesting...maybe shopping?

Oooh, and what adventures they were, too...but the computer works, the modem works...just can't get the rassing frasing aol cd (which Ihate anyway) to do it's stuff now--it gacks at the last second somehow. But I can have a friend look at it; maybe let me go through his server if I whimper enough:)
