The smell of Hello Kitty erasers from when I was a child. (They're different now.)

Tandoori chicken. (The best place moved away a while ago.)

The Sri lanka Curry House. (Ditto.)

Friday the 13th--the Series.

Mystery Science Theatre 3000--Especially with Joel.

My friend Peter. (He's in Akita, Japan.)

My coworker Sheila who quit last week.

Some of the funny stuff some of us did on Anarchy.
(How ever did we all find time for all those stories? Siiiigh)

An old coworker who's going to be a daddy soon.

An apartment I used to live in.

Those incredibly tight stretch-jeans I used to wear in my eary 20's, and the ability to squeeze into them. (total Candypants!!)

These bright red streaks I used to have in my hair.
(Hmmm, that I can get back though, hah?)

Swapping e-mails with a friendly froggy.

Going out to dance. (I can fix that too, maybe this weekend before the puppet thing?)

Don't get me wrong; there's a lot of good things in my life. But somehow I thought it would be important to say for the record: I miss stuff.

I miss those huge tax refunds I got back in my 20's.

I miss visiting my grandma's farm and swinging on that swing hung from the tree by the road early in the morning before anyone else wakes up.

I miss my young tight body.

I miss nursing my babies.

I miss getting the summers off from school.

I miss my dad :(

That swing was the best! Nice long rope so I felt like I was flying when I really got going. Wafting scent of cow dung in the cool morning air.....aaaahhhhhhh *LOL*

Not enough seashells for one, and beach glass, forget it. *Sigh* I lived in Hawaii for a few years as a little girl, and it spoiled me for ever.
Black volcanic sand, jelly fish you can poke with a stick, treasures on the beach....tides...ahhhh.....

I miss St. Paul/Minneapolis, Madison, and the Midwest in general! (But I don't miss the winter, and I'll get a brief fix this summer, at least.)

I miss living near my immediate family.

I miss the (so far) love of my life. Infrequent email correspondence just doesn't suffice.

I miss my cats: Spook (of icon fame), who died May 1, 2000; Peepers (my soulmate kitty), who died about 5 years ago, and Kippy (classic Tuxedo look), who died about 6 years ago.

I miss my grandparents. I miss having grandparents, even after all these (30!) years.

I miss too many friends and co-workers who have left this valley in search of more affordable housing and greener pastures.

I miss having sufficient time in my life to ponder the Universe, read, write, and play.

I'm looking forward...

I don't miss much stuff, but from everyone else's comments, the one that chimed with me was Cyn's one about having summer off.

OK, I do miss some things:

• Going to the cinema on Mondays every week (it was the cheap ticket day)
  
• All the friends I've lost touch with from previous phases of my life (hello to Neville, Caroline, Simon, DO'S, Pat, Griff, Kathryn, etc. etc. etc.)
  
• My psychedelic coloured shoes (have a pic somewhere - canvas - fell apart - very sad)
