Like many of it's relatives, the North American Fledermaus has nesting instincts that kick in when the weather starts to change.

The leaves fall and the winds start to bring cooler air, and the Fledermaus, much like the nesting squirrels, prepares it's home for the rougher weather.
*A shot of Ms Mausi fluffing pillows, washing heavy blankets, foofing into the nice warm laundry, buying lightbulbs, washing monkey socks, hiding chocolate*

As the geese begin to think of migrating, the first instinct of the fledermaus is for hibernation....but occasionally they've been known to migrate as well.

This doesn't mean that they don't seem to enjoy the cooler weather..
