Just in a bit of a *mood*

I just feel a bit annoyed today...not a little frustrated, and today very much like white trash. (My work tends to do that sometimes., just by virtue of what it is...Not everyone's led a priviledged life, just enough for some people to be *really* annoying without being conscious of just how classist or whatever they're really being...I told you I was in a mood...)
When I've mentioned my dad's situation at work and where they live, I get these over-interested, "Ohhh, are you FROM the Ozarks?" and I reply most neutrally, "No, they moved after I left home." instead of, "Hey, knock off the look okay? Minnesota grows weirdoes too you know!"

I think I'll feel better after some real dinner..I had pierogies for lunch..weird bad overlarge pierogies where they barely stuffed them at all..I swear the first one I tried was nothing but dough...:P Eeew....time for Cooking with Ms Mausi!!! Today, pierogies that don't suck!!! Wheeeee!!!!!

*Mashes spuds*
*Makes dumpling wrappers form flour and water*
*grates cheese*
*adds a little onion and a touch of paprika*
*Makes little circles with a glass and puts a dab of stuffing in it, then closes up the ends with a little water*
*Fries them in a little olive oil--yes, butter's traditional, I'm out..pfeh!*
*Sautees' chopped up onions,mushrooms, peppers, and zuchhinis with garlic, oil, rosemary, paprika, and whatever's in her fridge that looks like it'll go*
*serve piping hot with sour cream, hard cheese, or just as is....*


Mmmmmm.....Delish!!!

Why d'ya think they call it the "City o' Flakes"?

I get the same treatment when I talk about my mother in Alabama (they moved there in 1983). People ask me if I grew up in 'Bama, and I say "whut the hail gave y'all that ah-dea?"
