msfledermausIt's been THAT kind of day...I've spent most of work lableing things in my storage so they won't be destroyed when the storage space gets demolished. Moving boxes. Sneezing like crazy. Hot and sticky. Bleah.
The only good news is that my coworker Jennifer went into labor...at work, even. she kept saying she had cramps and it was nothing, I'm told, until she talked to her doc and he said, "You're in denial, lady--those are contractions." Woohoo!!! Little Pot Pie is ready!!! (Our affectionate nickname for the soon-to-be-outside baby-critter.)
I talked to my manager twice--once this morning, and once later on today when he called me at work. He checked out the situation, explained that someone had complained about last night's fight and was worried. (Turned out to be a different apartment from what I thought it had been..that means the noise had to be at least wice as loud as what I was hearing...*cringes*) I'm told that if anything happens again I get to call the manager asap. He also apologized profusely...seems there was a second fight on the 6th floor as well, and half the building went to complain..What the HELL has happened to my nice art-Deco building?!?!!?!? I live in a crack-stack now.
I don't want to move though, because I really love my neighbors. I'm sure we all can figure out something before my lease is up....in June....goddammit....

The cops were taking pictures and writing stuff on the pavement with chalk. Eventually the towless truck showed up and hauled the car away. There was a foot-high hole in the building.
Where I used to live, my upstairs neighbor tried to break into my place. When she couldn't get in, she put crazy glue in the power box! A few days later she came back and yelled, "Ryan, I know you're in there!" (My name isn't Ryan.) She put something in the peephole to make it dissolve and shoot out. That was the same day she was running around outside saying, "They're trying to kill me!" About a month later, she was pounding on her floor with a hammer. I called the cops, who didn't do shit. After they talked to her, they came back and one said with a straight face, "She said she was trying to get the people out of her vent." Eventually, the cops picked up her wandering the streets and sent her back home with her folks. A few years ago, I could've sworn I saw her on Howard Stern. She looked very similar and she had the same name. Howard had her on because the SPCA said she was too mentally unstable to adopt a pet.

I started playing around here Christmas of 2000, and it just kind of stuck..and I spread the infection to Alexis.
