My two-doors-down-neighbor fell and broke her toe tonight. I heard her yell for help and found her half-in, half out of the freight elevator. A few of my other neighbors also came out, and while one called the paramedics another got an ice pack and my neigbor John and I held Caroline and told her funny stories to distract her from the pain.

She's going to be okay. Caroline was cracking jokes to the paramedics, and they assured her and us that her toe would be good as new. I'm so glad. I like her a lot--she knocks on my doors and yells when there's a fire alarm and always likes my lipstick and asks what I'm making for supper when she's stuck on what to cook...

*shakes out the tension from her hands and shoulders.*

Allright--long hot bath for me tonight, and long pajamas in case Caroline needs a hand when she gets back...

I like hearing about the people in your building. Sounds like an interesting group. :)

Sure is...so far we have as a cast:

The Oak Grove Coven--Redneckwitchboi, Jen and myself.

Tristan and John, the caretaker and his significant other--both were on the scene last night.

Caroline, of course, usually in really gorgeous braids and yelling about the new landlord. I love her:)

The gay crack-whores down on level One.

The transvestite semi-benign alcoholic next-door to Redneckwitchboi.

Several adorable Aveda students with hot-pink and purple hair.

And the cast goes on and on...:)

*HUGS* You sounds like the GREATEST neighbor and friend, Ms. Fledermaus.:):) I know Caroline really appreciated your help, and I really admire that.:):) I would have done the same thing.:):)

Sincerely,
Always,
Your Admiring Friend,
John:)

Well, my other neighbors were very helpful too...One went down to wait for the ambulance, one made the call, and my neighbor John and I held onto her and gave her hands to grip when she needed it. (Caroline was in a *lot* of pain.)

I'm just grateful we all came out like we did...lately you're not sure if you need to have an ice-pack or a baseball bat in my building...

And thank you for the glowing praise. *face burns with extra blushes*

Da Maus.

When I read the title of this post, I couldn't stop thinking of the Concrete Blonde song...

* currently wishing I could have joined you in that bath for fun with bath goop * ; )

I probably could have used it; I'm always a little shaky after something like that. Not so much before or during, but always after...

I needed that soak....I felt a lot better after it.

Heh. *Blushes*
You woulda done it, too, I bet. Caroline's got a pretty hefty yell to her:) (And boy am I glad!)

She's all patched up now; saw her come back last night and came out to see how she's doing. Her ankle's sprained and sure enough, the toe's broken, but they said it was an easy set and she'll heal up in no time. *whew!*

I'm surprised. You mean you didn't call a toe truck?
