I had an awful nightmare last night. I dreamed that we had a nuclear attack in this country, and everyone I knew was running for shelters and trying desperately to get away, to be safe. At one point I saw a mushroom cloud in the far distance of the horizon. The rest of the dream was chaotic and muddled, but I woke up tangled in blankets from my thrashing around.

It's the first nuke dream I've had since the early nineties.

I think it's my subconscious reacting to the tense situations right now, and Our Esteemed Leader's apparent willingness (or even eagerness) to wave our nukes around. Never mind we were shown not that long ago that nobody needs a nuke to make us bleed if that's what they're going for. Forgive me, I'm still a little freaked from my dream...

This morning I'll keep doing nice normal things to root myself in today. Wrapping presents, sending cards. Working. Going to Magus Books later with Ben the Neighbor. Watching the rain (Rain? Rain!) fall from the sky. Breathe reeeeally deep. All that good stuff.

It's all you can do, isn't it?

Can a swarm of Evil Flying Sock Monkeys be sent to DC to invade the Oval Office?

I wish...

I think they're still in fingerpaint therapy on Kapock Island's really really wild preserve...it might be a while before they get out again.

I've been more terrified about nukes in my waking hours, but that only lasted for about 20 years... I was just getting over the fear of thermonuclear annihilation, too... {{{{Ms. Fledermaus}}}}

Nice while it lasted, huh?

though to be fair, we were'nt even all that safe this last decade...granted it would be more along the lines of a nuclear accident as opposed to blowing ourselves up on purpose.

The weird thing is, back in the day I knew that since Minneapolis was a Soviet target area at least it would happen so fast I wouldn't know I'd be dead until it happened. These days...who the hell knows?

I had a similar dream a few times in the 80s. Creepy. I didn't like it.

Nuke & the "Puke"

Maybe it's just me but yesterday our "Leader" and his wife were reading Twas the night Before Christmas... for a bunch of little kids. He started to read but passed the book onto the first lady because he said he "couldn't see that well". Well, I was watching his face and I had this erie feeling come over me that I was watching an evil man who just couldn't get into a childlike mood to read a story like that. It was a feeling like I was watching a man who was too consumed with making war. I worry about the coming months.

As for your dream...I've had ones like that too. Seeing a mushroom cloud grow up over a corn field is one I've had in the last two months. =O( Anyway...let's hope we NEVER have to deal with that. Let's hope that 2004 gets here QUICK and people come to their senses. Take care.

That's a scary thought...Bush being unable to read "Night before Xmas." Eew.

Down in Education here at work, we have a scanned pic of a kid reading from a book and Bush following along, but his own book is upside-down:)

No nukes! No nukes!

The upside down book shows that his mind is elsewhere. Regardless of whether his mind is on war or not... it shows that his attention is NOT on the MOMENT and certainly his concerns and attentions for kids is seriously lacking under the cover being a "Nice" guy.

I'd LOVE to have that pic of him with the upside down book. Where can I get it? Have a great evening! =O)
