But no less angry about the arrests of over 500 Middle Eastern men in California over very, very flimsy charges, thanks to our new Homeland Security act.

And the headlines are no less comforting. Let's face it, unless we all scream our heads off no, we're going to war. We'll probably go to war anyway.

The only bright bit so far newswise is the tragicomedy of Trent "No really, folks, I didn't mean it" Lott. I hope he keeps his seat--let him be a reminder of what people REALLY voted for...People who will smile sweetly to your faces and say the most reassuringly comforting stuff about protection, and then turn right back around and laugh at you when your back is turned...

Again, please forgive the politcal tirade. I'm just so tired and pissed off and trying to figure out what the hell to do next, like everyone else. I spent time looking at a Pottery Barn catalog, just dreaming about pretty furniture and pain tand bookshelves and not having to worry about a thing. That's why Pottery Barn sells $200 barstools, I tell ya. Reassuring dreams of peace.

*looks at free rickety barstools*

If you can't have peace, you can at least have interesting.
*Dabs glitter on the rungs just for the hell of it*

The old Chinese curse comes to mind...."may you live in interesting times"....

John & Yoko were right, back in the 70's......"War is over-if you want it"....but people are so burned out politically that most of us are content to just let 'them' run things....
