..and being outside some Chino Latino sort of restaurant where the Loring Pasta bar is currently. I slept pretty hard last night. I put on some Cocteau Twins and before I knew it I drifted off.

I'm not looking forward to work at all today. My plan--get stuff done, hunker down, stay unseen. Be difficult to find. Happily a lot of people will still be on vacation.

Then I will run away for home and watch bad movies until my work blues are all gone. I've had worse plans.

So, what exactly is the problem with having to close the door to the mailroom? Doesn't that give you a wee bit more privacy? You can shut out the icky people that way, no?

Our space is unusually hot with all the equipment, and our ventilation now is either that door or the diesel fumes off the dock. Plus ozone builds up from the copiers we have...so it's a work illness issue.

Eek! That sounds like something you'd want to get OSHA involved in. Definitely a health hazard. Have you talked to the powers that be about the health hazard? I would mention OSHA to them. That usually scares the piss out of HR people. And then I'd follow through with it.
