I kept getting jolted away last night by whooping car alarms and a wrong number that kept trying to call after 11:00.

My sink's clogged again. And this morning I found a roach in my sink!!! It's winter, I don't leave food or garbage out, and my kitchen's as clean as anyone else's. What the FUCK?!?!?! After summoning my inner Sigourney Weaver and murdering it with extreme prejudice, I scrubbed my kitchen and threw out any food that might have even LOOKED open and found the number for my manager so I can get the clog taken care of and--Oh god, I don't know, lay traps? Fumigate? Send people in with machine guns!?!?! I hate roaches particularly!! When I moved in my old landlord assured me the kept a *very* clean building, with fumigators and whatnot. My guess is that the new company's been letting things slide...big shocker there.

I have tons of laundry to do when I get home.

I'm too freaked out by that bug thing to eat breakfast.

Dammit, I need that "Day reboot" button installed, dammit dammit!

That roach isn't there because of your housekeeping skills. It's there because you live in a building with some less-than-clean-or-desirable people. I hope your landlord takes quick action before those roaches become a problem!

Poor you...bugged at work AND at home. :(

Whether my landlord does anything or not those bugs are fucking DEAD. I'll do whatever I have to. Up to and including flamethrowers.

after I jump off here he's my very next phone call.

Oh god I hate roaches. Hate them hate them hate them....*shudders with loathing*

You should have seen me tear my ktichen apart. Not a pretty sight. But I didn't find any more. I think I drove them back to wherever they started from. Now to finish em off! Grrrr!!!

Very true ... the first apartment I ever had, I lived in for several years and never had a bug. I am a very scrupulous housekeeper and always have been, so no huge surprise. After a few years the person next door to me that I shared a kitchen wall with moved out and I got a new neighbor. Within a few months I had roaches. I thought it was because the new neighbors were dirty, but someone told me that in all likelihood, it was the reverse; the old neighbors had been dirty and attracted all the bugs, and now the new folks were probably really clean and the bugs were coming over looking for something to eat at my place.

Also, no matter how tempted you may be, do not put out roach motels!!! You will just lure even MORE of them over that way.

Good thing to know; I was considering it.
I AM going to bleach everything I can reach in my kitchen.

When you find out how to install that day reboot utility, please let me know!

On the other hand, things can only get better now... Have a great day!

The apartment directly below me is open!!!!! Diva and Duffy would luurve to have a pal downstairs!

I know you say your lease isn't up for a few months, but there are ways around that. The absolute worst thing that could happen is you could lose your damage deposit but beyond that, since you didn't sign the lease with this company there are loopholes.

If the place becomes "uninhabitable" you CAN get out of it! And you have plenty of backup on that with bugs, loud neighbors that no one does anything about, inadequate garbage pickup (guess where the roaches came from?) etc. You can document how the place has gone downhill.

I'm having a friend's sister check things out a bit..she specializes in rental law in school:)

But my lease also says not only would I lose my deposit but have to pay rent as well until they found someone else to take my unit:(

Coolness! I would think there would be a clause somewhere that would let you out if you didn't actually sign with them. Hm.

Bugged.....????

HEY!!!! I can relate. BUT, before you get too much like Sigourney Weaver and begin sweating and chasing BIGGGG BUGS through hallways airvents and sink drains, take note:

I used to live in an apartment that was so clean you could have eaten off the kitchen floor. NOT a SPECK of dirt anywhere. THEN, one night, coming home from work, I flicked on the kitchen light, .....I SAW THEM!!! They scurried under the cupboards. DAM IT!!! I HATE ROACHES!!!!! Sooo... I called the landlord and he informed me that the reason I had roaches was not because I was dirty but because the people (Not that clean) who lived on the ground floor (I lived on 3rd floor) were moving out. What happened was that their moving out chased the roaches up to my place. OHHH HOW NICE!!! A PENTHOUSE VIEW!!

Anmyway, I was thinking....it is the first of the month, it's a bit cold outside (If your a roach) and just maybe you have some DIRTBALLS who are moving. COULD IT BE??? After the landlord fumagated... (Didn't take long) NO MORE BUGS....and I put the flame thrower away... GOOD LUCK!!! =O)

I have the ground forces (Raid ) laid in and the kitchen's been poked and prodded and bleached and scrubbed and bagged. Not a sign of any habitation, so I think you may be right.

If my landlord's on the ball, this shouldn't be much of a porblem. If he's not, for my birthday I'll be buying a roach control kit online and giving some to every neighbor I see as loudly as I can...

It could very well be that "THEY" were just passing through. Must be they didn't find your place of habitat very appealing. GOOD WORK!! Lets hope there won't be an ALIEN 2. LOL!!

Problem is, if you see a roach, there is already a problem.
