...and get ready for my appointment. Whyyyy do I always schedule these things on my actual vacations instead of my sick time?
(Wait wait, I know why; bcause it takes 2-3 weeks to get the time off, and I got my yearly notification last Friday. Still...)

Depending on how far my new medica card stretches, I might have to have a long involved browse in Dreamhaven as a reward for being a good girl for the nice nurse. At least she's not mom's Head Nurse...Any sign of a gel-cap-cupcake and I will be gibbering, "Nonono, can't have sugar, gotta watch the sweets you know-okay-BUH-byeee!"

My throat's been a bit sore lately..Leftovers from Norwalk, I'm told. Ben the Neighbor's got it now, courstesy of yours truly. He's to give me a call if he needs someone to fetch the Gatorade. Be careful out there, sweet peoples...

Very. I'm hearing that weeks later people still have this sore throat thing from the virus. I have it myself.
*Drinks hot tea with honey*
I have no idea whether I'm still contagious or what. Happily I haven't been around people or anything.

Holy shit you had it too?! (sorry, I just got a computer after a month-long LJ hiatus)
do you have a cough?
I got over it about 2 weeks ago but now I have a cough/scratchy throat that won't go away.
Read my Dec 19 post for more details...

Yeah, I have a cough too..and I've been told that most of us that have been Norwalked will get to keep that for a while:( how long no man can say.

I'm trying to dose it with lemon and honey and whatnot; since I get laryngitis sometimes. It does seem to help it a bit so far. I hope yours goes away soon. This virus is pretty damn scary, huh?

I keep meaning to type it into a search engine to see what other fun symptoms we can expect...hives? Big green spots? Sudden DNA changes that transform us into Henry Kissinger?

Anyway, it does seem to be going away, albeit slowly. I'd recommend as much garlic as you can eat since it's both antiviral and antibacterial--keeps the sore throat from becoming an infection. (See, see, I know my stuff throat-wise:) Roasted works well, though I just ate a raw one. *grins and breathes away from the monitor* Hot french onion soup helps, Lemon and honey, tea made with about a tablespoon of rosemary leaves. (drink slowly, it's strong.) Hot steamy baths, too.Um...*leafs through herbalist book* gargling with cider vinegar and honey, four to five times a day. Licorice teas Echinacea and goldenseal to fight infection....

what the hell, try 'em all at once:)

Holy crap dude. Right before I walked onstage at Eddie's Attic the other night, I ran to the parking lot and gargled with (unfiltered) Apple Cider Vinegar. It's only because of that, that I made it through the gig.

No, after you get used to it it's fine.
I remember taking my first sip of ACV and gagging, and then being amazed at feeling the burning in my inner ears! Now it's like strong mouthwash. With a nasty taste.

*grins*
I can picture that...oooog...nasty.

Usually if my throat's that sore, I go for the curry cure--that which does not kill you etcetra:)
